At Discover Montessori our teaching faculty and staff are highly educated, passionate, and enthusiastic professionals.
From diverse heritage they bring their own specialties and passions to the classrooms. Our staff hold Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) certification, Early Childhood Education, as well as Independent Teaching Certificates.
Our staff might prefer the term ‘facilitator’ or 'guide' over the term ‘teacher’. Rather than traditional classrooms, the Montessori approach is more flexible in accommodating individual needs and cooperative efforts which are ‘fascilitated’ by the teacher.
Our teachers at every level, provide an inspiring environment for students, one which enables each student to become independent and engaged with their learning.
Our staff step in at the right moments in order to build the child's foundation one step - at the right time - and at the student's unique pace.
While there are many structured class activities where staff take a more central role, generally speaking the Montessori teacher's training and wisdom determines when to instruct, when to observe, and when to guide, according to each child’s individual strengths and needs.
Far from a top-down approach, our teachers to follow the child in the interests, curiosities, and abilities.
'The greatest sign of success for a teacher... is to be able to say, 'the children are now working as if I did not exist.'
Dr. Maria Montessori
