Discover Montessori Society acknowledges that we live, work, learn, and play
on the traditional and unceded territory of the Snuneymuxw First Nation.
Montessori is an educational approach developed by physician and educator Dr. Maria Montessori that is based on her extensive research on early learning and human development. Focussing on self-directed activity, hands-on learning, and collaboration, this technique involves mixed-age classrooms that give students a choice of educational activities rather than everyone learning the same lesson at once. Every learning material in the classroom supports an aspect of child development and matches the child's interests with the Montesssori activities. A unique curriculum is created for each child based on their interests and learning style ... and the result is nothing short of amazing!
Entry into the school occurs at age 3, grade 1 and grade 7.
